Lodgepole Reflection

Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

A stand of lodgepole pine reflects off a tranquil String Lake in northwestern Wyoming. The dominant tree in the area, lodgepole pine is found throughout the Rocky Mountains from the Yukon to Colorado. This area is susceptible to forest fires, which destroy the seed sources of other tree species, leaving little competition for the dominant lodgepole pine.
