Iceberg Lake

Glacier National Park, Montana

Deep in the wilderness of northern Montana lays Iceberg Lake, where throughout the summer large blocks of ice float after calving from snowfields that slide down 3,000 foot vertical cliffs.  The lake never receives direct sunlight, remaining frozen through spring in the deep shadows of the Continental Divide.
