Of Waves Past

Cape Perpetua, Oregon

A band of seaweed is nestled into a basalt rock that has been shaped by centuries of wave action. This is part of a narrow inlet known as Devil’s Churn, where waves continually pound the rocky coastline, sending sea spray high into the air in a thundering display.
