Pinnacles Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah Rows of hoodoos radiate the rays of an early morning sun. Hoodoos are formed when natural forces erode lower layers of sedimentary rock that are then protected by a harder top layer. Their shapes depend upon the patterns of erosion that may be influenced by differences in the hardness of the sedimentary rock. |
