Sense of Balance Estero Bay, Florida Mangrove roots reflect off the water’s surface. Mangroves have adapted well to the less-than-ideal subtropical conditions of Florida, where the trees are shorter and their leaves smaller than those of their tropical relatives. Mangroves provide a nursery for many fish as well as a home to several species of mollusks, reptiles and birds. |
