Autumn Glow

Pennwood State Park, Connecticut

As cold weather approaches, to conserve energy trees stop their production of chlorophyll, a chemical that facilitates photosynthesis. Chlorophyll is what makes tree leaves green, which change color in the absence of the chemical.
