Tandem Evolution

Glacier National Park, Montana

A Globeflower Fly is busy working on its namesake flower alongside a small creek in northern Montana. The fly is the principal pollinator of the Globeflower, but there is more to this classic pollinator-plant relationship. The fly benefits from its pollination efforts as its larvae depend upon the globeflower’s seeds as food for their survival.
