Firehole River

Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Sourced from the waters of several geothermal areas, the gentle flow of the Firehole River accelerates as the river’s sandy bottom transitions to a steeper, rocky gradient. Soon the river will run a series of strong rapids and eventually cascade over waterfalls.
