Redwood Grove

Redwood National Park

This old growth grove of coast redwoods rises 300 feet abovethe forest floor, which is commonly lined with ferns up several feet wide.  Heavy seasonal rains and a routine supply of moisture from the Pacific Ocean combine to produce ideal growing conditions for the world’s tallest trees, many of which are thousands of years old.
