River of Trees Glacier National Park, Montana A stand of trees rises from a creek near Grinnell Lake in Glacier National Park. Despite the mineral-rich waters, perpetual submersion will eventually overcome these trees, which in time will topple and upon decay add nutrients back into the water for new trees to grow. |
