Cottonwood View

Yosemite National Park, California

A Cottonwood tree profiles Upper Yosemite Falls from far across the vast valley within the park. The Cottonwood’s leaf, like that of the quaking aspen, is shaped in such a way that is uniquely moves in the wind. The tree’s seeds are constructed to blow far distances in the wind before reaching the ground to germinate.
