False Azalea

Glacier National Park, Montana

The bell-shaped flowers of the False Azalea dangle from the plant’s limbs. The plant is a member of the family Ericaceae, which includes rhododendron, blueberry and cranberry. Like with its relatives, the False Azalea’s survival depends on a specific fungus to help its roots acquire necessary nutrients.
