King of the Hill

Theodore Roosevelt National Park, North Dakota

Standing atop a pile of scree, a Bison is well aware of his surroundings. Once numbering in the millions, the Bison was driven almost to extinction by the early 1900’s. The population has since rebounded, but roams wild throughout only isolated areas of North America.
