Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

A female elk turns quickly to a sound coming from behind, breaking the silence of dawn at the base of the Teton Range. Primarily a grazer, elk prefer open meadows during the summer for an abundance of food. But it comes with risk, with their primary predators, mountain lions and wolves roaming these same lands.
