Uinta Squirrel

Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

A Uinta Ground Squirrel peers from behind a rock near Slough Creek in the backcountry of Yellowstone National Park. The squirrel prefers grasslands that are always located near water, as is the case at this location. It eats a variety of foods including seeds, insects and even meat.
