Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

A coyote stands confidently on a hill overlooking his den. This one stopped to stare one last time as it made one of many trips to hunt rodents in order to feed its hungry pups. Survival has become even more challenging for Yellowstone coyotes, who saw half their population vanish in the two years following the re-introduction of wolves into the park.
