Desert Paintbrush Canyonlands National Park, Utah A Giant Red Indian Paintbrush grows in the grasslands of the district known as Island of the Sky, atop a huge mesa that drops thousands of feet to dozens of deep canyons. This Paintbrush sends its roots toward those of other plants, robbing them of their nutrients. In the distance is a formation of heavily-eroded rock. |
